During the last quarter of 2025, AMAFRUVA and CAPEC delivered a specialized training program to 40 wholesalers as part of the LIFE CLOOVER² Project, aiming to promote a more sustainable and circular model for agricultural plastic packaging.
The LIFE CLOOVER² project seeks to establish a closed and controlled loop of reusable plastic crates, ensuring full traceability throughout their entire life cycle. At the end of their service life, the crates are recycled to produce new packaging with the same functional and food safety properties as the original ones, contributing to plastic waste reduction and the advancement of the circular economy.
The training covered key aspects such as:
- Proper handling and storage of the crates.
- Hygienic transport requirements.
- Exclusive use within the closed-loop system.
- Procedures for damaged crates and authorized recycling.
- The importance of transferring these guidelines to all retailers using the reusable crates.
This initiative represents a crucial step to ensure the success of the reuse model, packaging traceability, and compliance with the project’s sustainability and safety standards.
AMAFRUVA and CAPEC would like to thank all participating wholesalers for their commitment and reaffirm their dedication to a more responsible, innovative, and sustainable agriculture.
