As part of the LIFE CLOOVER² project, a new digital traceability platform has been designed in collaboration with CETEC Centro Tecnológico del Calzado y del Plástico de la Región de Murcia. The platform is now being used to manage and monitor the flows of reusable, reused, recyclable and recycled packaging units, providing traceability for both closed-loop schemes: commercial and industrial packaging.
The platform brings together all participating stakeholders in a single digital environment, enabling the registration and tracking of packaging from its manufacture, through its various usage cycles, to its final recycling and return to the loop.
The digital solution supports the two loops implemented within the LIFE CLOOVER² project:
- The commercial loop for fruit and vegetable crates, coordinated by CAPEC CAJAS EN ECONOMIA CIRCULAR.
- The industrial circuit for plastic drums and Jerry cans, coordinated by SINTAC Recycling.
The platform incorporates a role-based access system that enables each participating partner — AgroFresh, GCR Sustainable Plastic Solutions, Reyde, Paléc Ecológico, CAPEC CAJAS EN ECONOMIA CIRCULAR, SINTAC Recycling and AMAFRUVA — to securely and efficiently record, view and manage relevant information.
This digital environment contributes to greater transparency and traceability throughout the packaging flows, while supporting process optimisation across both closed-loop schemes.
