LIFE CLOOVER² has reached a new milestone with the completion of the circularity circuit for PP crates. Following the completion of the three planned reuse cycles, the crates have undergone one recycling cycle, demonstrating the potential to extend the useful life of the packaging through the combination of reuse and recycling.
After completing the three reuse cycles, the crates were collected and recycled by GCR Sustainable Plastic Solutions, which processed the material into 100% recycled polypropylene (r-PP) pellets. This recycled raw material was subsequently used by Paléc Ecológico to manufacture 1,052 new PP crates, demonstrating how recycled material can be reintroduced into the production process to manufacture new packaging.

This new phase of the circuit also introduces a chocolate-coloured design, replacing the blue colour used in the previous cycle. The change provides a visual reference that facilitates the identification and monitoring of the different stages of the circularity circuit.
The completion of this process demonstrates the potential to reintroduce recycled polypropylene into the production of new packaging while maintaining its functionality. It also reinforces the LIFE CLOOVER² approach of combining reuse and recycling to extend the useful life of plastic packaging materials and contribute to the development of more circular models for the agri-food sector.
